Account suspended

admins:

When browsing to http://skeptic.za.org or http://www.skeptic.za.org it says account suspended.

http://forum.skeptic.za.org still works though.

I got the “Account Suspended” screen twice last night while accessing the forum. It had a horribly garish bright orange and turquoise colour motif — presumably, just in case someone failed to register the content of the message, they could at least admire the artistic boldness of the page’s compositor.

No idea, seems fine now. If there were any ‘artistic boldnesses’ involved, it probably wasn’t a message from the server. DNS glitches maybe? I’d appreciate a screenshot or similar if it happens again, so I can investigate.

Attached is the screenshot and I’m still getting it.

ping still resolves hostname to ip ok:

so far no idea but I haven’t investigated more.

Browser cache cleared, problem went away, should have known better

Thanks, probably some late night configuration changes by host. There is some scheduled downtime for tomorrow morning as well…

LOL @ Mefiante - was expecting something really hideous. While nothing special, the colours were at least toned down to pastel proportions - do I detect a bit of chromatophobia ( http://www.colourlovers.com/blog/2007/11/11/the-absolutely-scariest-colors-imaginable ) >:D

Eek, no! I’m a sucker for a dandy rainbow. It’s just that the colour combo seemed much, much worse last night. Maybe mild acid flashback?

Nice to know there’s another *nix user on the forum.
