Very sad. My wife read it on Facebook this morning and my heart sank… As Michael Shermer said, the world is a better place because of him.
A very sad day, he will be missed greatly.
http://synapses.co.za/rip-christopher-hitchens-1949-2011/ - a personal tribute, to go with the hundreds (deservedly) flooding the interwebs.
Even though this news has been expected for some time it still is a shock. Hitchins’ words have always been much more than life like to me, they appeared to have been produced by a giant, an immortal giant in both the use of language and his mind.
I for one have hours of recorded debates to watch and reams of written words to attempt to digest. I best start now while I still have time! Hitch was younger than I am!
An incredible loss. Who will ruthlessly and eloquently rip apart stupid shit now?
I’m sad now.
:’(
WARNING: The following will probably make you rage, a lot, I’d like to PK this guy personally.
And so it starts… (I already noted some titles on youtube about a deathbed conversion too, I couldn’t care to observe that particular stupidity)
Sad indeed. I just read his latest piece in Vanity Fair last week. For the amount of agony he described, he didn’t get much extra time.
This clot is like so many other religious apologists. Read his idiotic nonsense about Hitch if you want to make yourself heave this lunchtime.
