Police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said the priest allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl during a church service at the Cwecweni Secondary school in Ncgobo in February.
Police had been searching for the man since. On Saturday the man went to the girl's relatives in Tsolo Village near Mthatha and tried to offer them a bribe in exchange for dropping the rape charges.
Police were informed and the man fled.

It’s quite simple, really: If you’re so thoroughly infected with the god-meme that you feel the need to dedicate your whole life to it, then you have a serious cerebral defect and personality disorder. Religious nutjobs are all wrong in the head and it’s almost inevitable that this shortcoming will spill over into other areas of their lives, most likely those areas where they apply the most suppression, which in the case of a priest is usually his vow of celibacy.
