It is horrendous but response has been good - Aden Thomas of Cape Talk gave them the (double) finger on air and dared them to come arrest him and I heard about a UCT gathering where everyone raised the one finger salute to these morons.
While it is absolutely shocking that it happened, I am confident it isn’t yet the end of days

Like st0nes, I too haven’t heard of Kathy Griffin before.
The longer the time you spend with our friend “The streisand effect”, the more you’ll laugh your silly ass off to how so many people in the public, or not so public sphere seem to have no clue how to handle simple situations. I’ve known of the effect for years and it becomes striking after a while how many people just, don’t.
This is the first time I’ve heard about it too. Maybe it is because the Streisand effect has not been explicitly banned as yet. Or perhaps the marketing of the idea was just inordinately yentl.
