Had an interresting conversation with my other half on sunday.
If the church is now latching onto evolution and science. And God created humans in his own form, then the first recogniseable humans, were black. So God is black.
OR, if God created humans in his own form, and our form is still changing, since evolution doesnt stop. then what form does God take? is he/she an amoeba? or does he keep up, have a makeover every few thousand years.
does he now wear levis and and a hoodie? and plays WOW. (that actually explains a lot…)
I’d like to see the religious woos try and explain that!
no he’s Chinese now…they outnumber the rest…No he was a Neanderthal. But seriously if you look up some serious discussion on what Jesus may have looked like (Assuming he existed at all) he was a Palestinian who spoke Aramaic, lived in the Mid East so he would’ve had black hair, dark eyes and was dark in skin.In fact some pictures depict him as a very common-looking Arab guy. The west angelfied him gave him long blond tresses, blue eyes and made him look like an Aryan in the best Hitlerian models…
What makes you think that the first humans were any colour in particular?
Mintaka
the conversations started around the whole ‘cradle of humankind’ thing. saying that the first humans were hanging around mosselbay or somewhere, and they were black.
ofcourse, cosmic soup could allso just be pretty colourless.
I see. ;D

Had a similar discussion with a super religious guy recently (actually the guy knows scripture and stuff pretty well - signs of a misspent youth perhaps :-\ ) Anyway, he said that the whole ‘man was created in the image of god’ thing was a bit of a misinterpretation from the original greek or whatever translation. He explained that the original text explained that god created a 3-in-one being, much like god himself (the father, the son and the holy ghost) in creating adam with a body, spirit and soul. The ‘soul’ part is like the ‘essence of god’ that he supposedly breathed into his creation. So apparently the bible is supposed to say not that man was created ‘in the image of god’ but rather ‘with the essence of god’. Still think its BS. Christians do not generally believe that god has physical form - and yet they usually spew the ‘man was created in the image of god’ crap. Not to give too much credit or credibility to the religious nuts, but I do appreciate the guy who actually goes to the trouble to consult the original text. Anyway. For what its worth…
thats pretty cool stuff lilli. one of my ex’s was allso very clued up on the bible stuff, and its sometimes quite interresting to have a chat with them. if they are into their history, and not into converting you, that is.
i would still like to see some xtians face when i tell them that god is black. and give them my argument, just for the sake of shit-stirring.
So the movie Bruce Almighty got it right. Heheh.
I know that God is black coz I’ve seen Her. ???
