They’re just links, I don’t claim they’re accurate and I fully expect people to doubt them. Problem is (and it is a problem), it’s probably the best data we’ve got.
As for meeting atheists: I have met a few out in the wild, but I work in a high-tech industry in joburg and on casual observation atheism seems to be a bit more prevalent in my demographic… Only a bit though, I still deal with incredible ignorance sometimes: Like people with B.Sc’s who tout “chi” and homeopathy.
