Landmarks. Where am I?

Free State?

The dam in question is the Westoe dam. Next to the R33 in Mpumalanga between Amsterdam and Lothair. I will not hold it against you if those two towns are not on your annual must visit list.

Well Amsterdam is on my “must visit” list, just not that Amsterdam.

Clocolan Free State. Building next to church where ashes are kept.

I was here yesterday.

Pottagold Bay?

And if you look very closely to the left, Secondarypottagold Bay.

Hint: The view is towards the town of Mossel Bay, but note the proximity of a certain river mouth. Any takers?

Struisbaai ?

You’re in a sports shoe.

Struisbaai is a bit further west, and I don’t think you can see Mosselbay from there.

The two settlements of Reebok and Klein-Brakrivier (from where the pic was taken) are so close together as to make no difference. Well done.

My father in law lives in Groot Brak, so if you met a short, Italian, know it all… :-[

He wouldn’t perchance be that talented fellow that often plays (trombone/trumpet?) at one of the coffee shops? How many Italians can there be in Groot Brak…

Quite a few — if Groot Brak is a favourite Italian, er…, uhm…, retreat… ::slight_smile:

Mpumalanga highveld smog. We don’t breathe our air here, we eat it.

Here for breakfast today…

That looks like Hangklip near Rooi-Els.

ETA: That Cape weather seems pleasant for this time of the year; trust you took the bikes for a spin? 8)

Yup, taken from outside the Drummond Arms…no bikes at this time of year, though, it’s too cold.

Winch you were here.

Answer: Hermanus, old harbour.
