It appears we have a lot of ketching up to do.

I can just imagine an African calender. When I was based in Dar es Salaam, I organised meetings for say 2h00 pm with my students (all Master or PhD’s)Lo and behold they’d pitch at 8h00 am: after some puzzled communications I was duly informed that the clock only starts when the sun rises;roughly 06h00 so that’s 0h00…02h00 is thus westernised 08h00 etc. In the evening, the clock stops at sunset. Of course the days are roughly of same duration due to the proximity to the equator. So if you want to meet @ 14h00 (Western) it would be 08h00. Capice? Now try this trick with a year’s calender… ???
