Maybe that’s because the universities are successfully teaching those students something new instead of reinforcing a bunch of unfounded and preconceived notions that were drummed into them at a very young age. Maybe it’s because the students actually learn to think at university and see all by themselves the intellectual sterility of religious fundamentalism. And maybe it’s because religion is itself an object lesson in the evolution of memes: an idea that is increasingly less fit in today’s social environment and is thus being selected against.
I see. So universities should teach subjects that have first been vetted by theological review, should they? Obviously it was the conspiratorial efforts of a few determined atheists that “contaminated” these universities with secular humanism, rather than, say, a natural progression from finding biblical accounts in conflict with the real world.
It’s not easy holding back the sarcasm when faced with such unadulterated nonsense as Dr Hammond’s “World War of Worldviews.” Clearly, restraint has failed me in this case…

Wow, I cant tell you how sorry I feel for you… Blinded by what youve been fed for so many years! You havent even properly explored the realm of christianity and still you can comment like that!
Please remember that while people are at university they are only told one side of the story, the evolutionists and world view. This is fine but where is the churches chance to tell their side of the story at this crucial time of development? University is where one forms ones ideas and perspectives which usually last the rest of your life and by being taught things which I strongly believe are untrue by someone so looked up to (Professors) is actually sad. I myself was an atheist of sorts until last year. I could never understand what my sister was always babbling about god for! I love rugby and I don’t even have that much passion for it, yet she had a uncontrollable urge to confess gods love and word. I Got soooo irritated by her at one stage that I refused to be in the same room as her. I KNEW she was wrong, but low and behold, Here I am, a baptised Christian who speaks more for god than my exuberant sister.
How did this happen you might say? I firstly watched a Creationist DVD which got me thinking. When I later found that there were some faults to his sience, I was disappointed, but I started doing my own research and came to the conclusion that god is real, loving and absolutely AWESOME! I was a drunkard, adulterer, what have you all. My life is so great now and I see gods miracles everyday.
Remember, seek and you shall find, just make sure you seek with all your heart. AND BE BAPTISED! IT WORKS… my sister spoke in tongues at her baptism!
Anyways, not here to preach,
Enjoy life… It’s short for some, and everlasting for others!
pawpaw 1000, your superstition has it’s stages. They are called Churches, and there are plenty of them. University is about educating people about the real world. Science is based on things observable, religion is not.
youre not exactly a great sience teacher, are you? by saying science is based on things observable, religion is not, youre talking rubbish… THere are many things which science tries to explain which “Isnt yet” observable or plainly isnt observable. By observing the change god brings in peoples lives and the remarkable miracles he performs, how can you say he isnt observable??? I was with my friend when the doctor told him he cant ever play rugby again as his spine is stuffed. After many test and other doctors, it was confirmed, HY WAS MOERTOE. He went to his home town, sad… One of the people from his church came to his house randomly one evening saying that he felt he should pray for him. My friend was at that point not a christian! The man lay his hands on my friend and he started to sweat and shiver. After about 2min of praying my friend was jumping around shouting with joy! his back pain had gone. He is now playing for the WP vodacom team. Michael Rice is his name if you want to search on the web and make sure I’m not lying.
You say science is about observing, Observe that friend…
Your anecdotal “evidence” notwithstanding, how can you demonstrate that this was a supernatural intervention?
well, his back was basically broken, doctors gave him no hope, a christian came to pray for him and he was immediately healed, IN THE NAME OF GOD. you see, proof right in front of you, but you still dont want to believe. If you can tell me how that was possible without a god, then I’ll be an atheist…
“[P]ossible?” Sure: a combination of cautious doctors, endorphins and serotonin.

anac… you are truly amazing!
@pawpaw1000
Are you a member of the shofar church?
That is good, thinking and researching is what being skeptic is all about. But if the faults you are referring to in science are of the type you posted elsewhere in this forum, I’m afraid you will have to research a little more. Those arguments are faulty at best, put forth by people with an obvious agenda. Search around, most creationist arguments have been discussed before.
And please note that you don’t have to prove science wrong to keep your belief in God. There are many good scientists who believe in God.
A lot of people (me included) have great lives too - without any gods. And I see miracles every day too, just not the supernatural kind.
Sorry, I have been away for a bit.

As I said in my previous post, your anecdotal evidence notwithstanding. This is a classic example of anecdotal evidence, not proof of the supernatural.
