GCG, Gavin and my daughter and I are in the process of publishing a collection of poems… here’s one I wrote some months after my grandson died:
ROURKE
(2005)
Oh God No God
Angels denied
The pain of the child
The universe died.
Where does it go?
The heart is still
Too big the fight
Too hard the hill
The fright, the horror
The sand so red
No God, Oh God
My baby’s dead
Where’s God, what god?
A body broken,
a life too good
For God? Good God
So misunderstood.
my stuff’s all very morbid, some are angry, you know how it goes. i would love to get published, but i use freeform, and a lot of puritan poets and readers dont consider that poetry.
