Zim

Mugabe’s clamp down. Maybe now the bleeding hearts will realise that democracy in Africa means it is OK if you are on the winning side, but once you lose the support you just keep the power by force. Another way is to keep the tribal leader happy and he tell the people who to vote for. Are we in for the same in a few years time once the ANC lose power? Africa does not have a good track record.

The situation in South Africa is just too complicated to simply lump us into any category. Since I have no idea what the future holds, I’ll stay positive - after all, what choice do I have? Paranoia and cynicism won’t help anyone.

If only we could see into the future… One can dream sometimes :stuck_out_tongue:

I am so with you on this Bluegray! There are far to many people walking around with glasses on that filter out the good, positive stuff and only show the negative. I share the same view as Richard Dawkins in that we are so lucky to be alive! Let’s make the most of it.

My brother is still up in Zim in one of the larger cities. They don’t seem to be seeing the same crap that you see on the news I guess because people in the cities already mostly know who they are going to vote for - no need to have to try and gain support there! Hope all goes well and things get sorted out there. About the ex-president - the words “unique, neuronically challenged person creative with the facts, supported by pure alternative wisdom”* comes to mind when you read stuff like this though! (That was the All Ages version.)
