Mighty Men Conference

By the way and on a more serious note: if 200 000 fathers and sons congregated (no audit I guess on the stats)to improve their ‘bonding’, what does that say of father and son relationships? Some people trekked from across the country to stand in long queus to do #1 or #2; ate cold food, slept in camp beds and all day listened to a man speaking die Engelse taal, about some mythical happenings…why don’t these fathers take their sons fishing/4x4ing/camping (without the preacher) etc? or son’s take their fathers to their local hang-outs/beaches/etc?

Currently, the generally accepted estimate is around 350,000 visitors to Buchan’s latest MMC, although some have proposed that it may have been as high as 450,000. As I understand it, it cost R100-00 a head just to get through the Potatoey Gates to this tuberbly chipped mish-mash of a frittered spudleyan event… ::slight_smile:

I would really like to know, what date did this supposed rain miracle occur? I would like to compare it to historical rain figures for that period etc. Would also like to find out more details about how the rain killed the fire etc.

Wonder if he sold fish and chips, with a backup of manna?

One can read the latest sugar-coated account here. However, a dose of insulin is recommended before going there.

AAAgh I’m a diabetic! >:D

Aah but your mind is NOT diabetic. From your other posts it seems as if you are quite capable of filtering out all the sugar-coating the woo-woo idiots use to hide their lies. Mental insulin - taken intra-geniusly. ;D

The funniest headline for this years mighty man was this one from the Witness…

“I was a hard man until last year’s Mighty Men”

Does that make Oom Angus the opposite of viagra? >:D ;D

Yep, ol’ “Bluestone” Buchan. Has a certain ring about it, dunnit?

LOL ;D >:D ;D That is brilliant. Also went to the army did you Irreverend?

Yep, last of 2-year stinters, me. Engineering Corps - Genie Korps (“Genie” 'n moer om nie) - Kroonstad. Later I blew lots of shit up in the name of peace and Armscor.

Sounds like fun. I was the FIRST of the 2-year stinters - 1977 (Nat service changed to compulsory 2 yrs). Served with the Tiffies in the band playing tuba. I was a July intake so it took 3 yrs from my life, but it was worth it coz it was here I decided to do music and went to do my B.Mus afterwards. Bluestone didn’t work - >:D

True. PF’s were much more effective as a turn-off.

I was attacked by a woo woo for attacking uncle angus: This is a letter to him by her:

[quote]Dear Mr Buchan,

I know you are terribly busy and feel bad about taking up some of your precious time.

I have a friends father who is an athiest, He lives near Durban. He and I have been having a discussion on Face Book, When I mentioned you as a Christian who only does good this was his reply.

Angus Buchan? He’s a sharp operator! He’s laughing all the way to the bank with his sermons and he pays no taxes! His last Mighty Men conference netted roughly R6million tax free…why should he farm with potatoes? The fact that he did good is not the issue…he cannot deliver on his promises (no preacher can)

Can you refute his allegations? I know that you only do good and if you do not wish to reply I will be happy with that. I know you will do what our Saviour leads you to do.

I will be at your Meetings in London, Bringing some friends.

Could I stand proxy for healing for my Aunt and Cousins who still have that terrible parasite. I asked you to pray for them some while ago. I know that our Lord and Saviour can heal them and they do not have to be there.[quote]
and here’s the response: [quote]The men were not charged to attend the Mighty Men Conference on Shalom. The farmers who made their farms available for campers charged a camping fee. Shalom Trust and Angus Buchan personally did not receive any funds from this, he no longer owns the farms.

[quote]

I wonder who financed his tent (massive) etc?

“terrible parasite” indeed…

Didnt quite do a good job refuting allegations now did he?

Also, doesnt quite need the farm anymore now does he?, with enough moola in the bank to sustain him and his spawn for a couple generations to come.

And its all moot, during the services, as per all organised religious instances, donations were made for the poor and needy, I can bet my front teeth that THOSE monies are not accounted for in any form or shape for the general masses to take note of…

This is a woman???

Not a very bright listener now is she? Also not a thinker at all either… or maybe just one of those poppies that dont like making decisions for herself and find it easier for men to manage her life for her on her behalf, and then bemoan her terrible life with her friends, who in return console her by telling her “Thats just how it is…” pat, pat,pat

ugh, I can get all worked up about this… (we need a facedesk smiley)

She’s a rather startling individual…former atheist (she says), reborn Christian, a Ocean Yacht master and Instructor, sails the seas and lives a lovely free life in nature! Very strong personality. (wtf!!) I think she’s trying her utmost to save my soul… ;D

People who say they are “former atheists” but are now “reborn” actually don’t understand atheism. They associate atheism with a period in their lives when they simply didn’t go to church and lived what they feel to have been a lecherous lifestyle. This could be more accurately described as “rebellious Christianity” than as “atheism”.

Actual genuine atheism? Afraid there’s no going back once you’ve seen the light. If she’s trying to save your soul, Brian, she has a tough job ahead of her. Seems to me you are as reprobate as the rest of us (except our beloved Teleo).

True. Especially women, the demands religion puts on females are immense, and once truly escaping it there will never be a return.

I agree. What I mean is that when someone is in a religion their minds are closed to the idiocy, weird doctrines, inherent contradictions and unreasonable beliefs. They are blinded by their faith, barred from investigation and rational inquiry. But once they have come out of that religion, their eyes are opened - they see all the lunacy they believed in, and as a result, there is no way they could go back. Only dogs return to their vomit.
