This pastor rapes his 11 yr-old step daughter, and then refuses a lawyer saying “Jesus will be my defense”. He was shocked when found guilty and sentenced to 20 years. This is another example of how Mefiante said (in the other thread about Christian rape):

Absolution, however meaningless, gets easier the more you practise it. It does nothing for the victim; it only makes the offender feel less guilty.

Here is a rapist and pedophile who thought “Jeebus” would forgive him and blah blah blah f*cking blah. And another reason for me to assert, with ThreeHolerHauler, faith is a kind of mental illness and it’s benefactors fraudsters.

Ranting and venting almost over - aaaaaaargh - okay, over.

Jesus was clearly asleep in the dock. Or maybe doing his nails… ::slight_smile:

Fortunately, the magistrate made up for it with a resounding declaration of, “No special favours just because you count Jesus as your friend.” ’Bout time too that someone had the brass tacks to do that, so two thumbs up to that courageous jurist.

Worryingly, there’s a real chance that the sentence could be overturned on appeal due to inadequate representation, despite the pastor voluntarily waiving counsel and no doubt being firmly warned by the magistrate of the unsoundness of doing so.

i recon, in rape cases, the victim must decide how much time the attacker must spend in the chookie. i heard, that in the bin, pedophiles and child killers are not treated all that heartily by fellow-inmates.

Well punned!

Here we go again. Another bastard with a superiority complex. I guess its inevitable when you believe that the entire universe was created with you in mind and that a jewish dude with multiple personalities was tortured to death all in anticipation of where you are going to put your penis 2000 years in the future.

If a child rapist is found guilty by a fair legal system, there should, in my opinion be two phases to his punishment. Firstly, he should be locked up for a loong time. Secondly, his ability to commit another rape should be curtailed. Yes, I am implying castration. Preferably with a blunt implement of some description.

Circumcision by shotgun. Not an exact science, but effective.

Agreed. Very nice. Put the guys head in a pipe so he doesn’t try and bite you like they do with dogs on the farm - hopefully he gets a bit of whiplash when his appendage is severed and there is a policeman handy to keep the piece. Like I said to my rabbi on the phone the other day, “Don’t cut me off.”

Hehe. Blasphemy can be so deliciously rich in puns.

Indeed (emphasis added):

What can we learn from this. Abstinence makes the fart a fondler?

Very interesting statistics. It begs the question why certain people decide to become priests or pastors in the first place.

Furthering Watookal’s research:

GCG can you give us a trend on the pie chart, say over the last ten years? I have a suspicion the Islam pie-slice is growing rapidly…Bush-baby helped them a lot. That’s even scarier.

Not all popes are innocent (even though some of them had that name while in office). Known papal improprieties through history – several of them with children. (Being a RC apostate, I refuse to capitalise “pope” as a very deliberate sign of scorn.)

There is something inherently rancid and festering in an organisation where sexual abuse is endemic up and down all levels of its hierarchy of representatives, including the very top. According to RC doctrine, the pope is god’s embodiment on Earth, which may say more about this god than his pope. Consequently, the pope has infallibility concerning questions of scriptural interpretation and dogma. Since the scriptures – at least those that are publicly known outside the RCC’s upper echelons – contain no admonitions against the raping and sodomising of children, even these Vicars of Christ feel it’s probably okay to indulge in a bit of hanky-panky with a minor as long as nobody else should find out. You’d think that somewhere within the Ten Commandments this god would be able to sacrifice a little of his pungent narcissism for some slight concern over the wellbeing of his children’s children; but no, it’s a vain hope.

The only reason the RCC has survived as long as it has is because too many people are too lame to identify its rank stench for what it really is: putrescence.

hang on…
that specific ones seems to have been created in 2005.

lemme search for something a bit more recent.

http://www.ecentrify.com/discuss/religion/images/pie_chart.gif

this one seems to be in 2007, if I had to judge by the feedback dates

it seems impossible to find anything more recent, that doesnt cater to a specific country.
allso, it seems that every site tweaks the specs a little to suit their specific needs.

i think i will go see if i can get something out of Stats SA.

Thanks GCG…it gives quite a different picture probably as a result of definitions, research methodology etc…interesting though the ‘no religion’ types who’re too scared to admit to atheism…maybe they’re the ones to focus on Stevo??? Tip them over the abysss!! >:D

Yup. My current target market. If more people admit to atheism the stigma attached to the word may start to diminish somewhat. Richard Dawkins calls it “critical mass” and he reckons the more people “come out of the atheist closet,” the more people will want to admit to atheism. Dan Barker said (on Sunday last week on Kate Turkington’s show on Radio 702) that atheists are currently where the gay movement was 20 years ago. BTW Kate said she would get me on her show about my book. Cool hey? Dan gave me and my book a STUNNING plug during his interview - I am over the moon and I think we are closer to “critical mass” in SA than we think.

Cool Steve, we must keep plugging it…what’ll critical mass be? I know in schools a 30% change in culture or patronage usually constitutes critical mass and tradition starts to change.
